T&T: Connecting chain links - cruising in Croatia

I recently added another 150' of G4 5/8" chain to my existing chain and we
used something called "missing link", a two part chain link that peens
together.  works great and goes through my s-l chain gypsy without a snag.
I also looked at "laplinks" but was told I needed to go to the next size up
for comparable strength.  the "missing link" is made in canada.    regards,
