T&T: A Radar Question

I think you asked about a stand alone radar (not integrated). If so, I'd
suggest that Furuno's best attribute is their radar function. They still make
stand alone radar systems, such as the1932MK2 with a CRT display. I had this
on a previous boat and can you you it's great at target acquisition. I could
see birds taking off in the distance or the nasty fish stakes at night in the
Chesapeake. I didn't have the ARPA option, so I can't speak to it.
For the
price, it may be worth looking at intregated (radar, chartplotter, depth/fish
finder) units. The new RayMarine units that allow for a split display at
different ranges would seem worth the look (no personal experience).
