I have the vented model on Alanui, a 40' Nordhavn.  I think it's a model
2000D or something like that.  You can wash a set of bed sheets, or a few
pairs of pants and a couple of T-shirts and that's about it.  If you leave
the items in the dryer they can get really wrinkled so my wife has taken to
finishing the drying by hanging things in the boat.  I've heard from other
owners that the Non Vented model takes 3 times as much water, so I'd avoid
that unless  you make a lot of water.  Overall I hear reliability is good, I
don't recall hearing anyone complain about them.  I don't know what other
options exist, but I think it's a safe purchase as long as you don't expect
it to do large loads?
