T&T: Bottom Paint in general

One other thing to consider is what repeated scrubbings to remove  
growth might do to the gelcoat on the bottom.  I don't know how thin  
gelcoat is--- I realize it will vary from manufacturer to  
manufacturer, but my impression is that it's pretty thin stuff.   
Depending on how hard one has to scrub or scrape to remove slime,  
weed, and maybe even some barnacles, I'd want to know how this will  
affect the integrity of the gelcoat over time.  Maybe it's no big  
deal, but since I don't know I'd want to find out.......
