T&T: in situ oil test

I remember a thread on "one drop oil tests" a while back but I don't remember
how the list rated them. Are they any good? Here's the Fluid RX site:

An annual lab test would be good but if you sprang a coolant leak a week later
you could do a lot of damage before you discovered it a year later. These
tests are cheap enough to run frequently if they do any good.

Also, anything new on portable oil analyzers?
