T&T: Anchor Rode

 >Our rode ( twisted 3 strand nylon ) is really kinked & inflexible  
so it
jambs the windlass. I seem to recall mention on this list of soaking in
fabric softener to help with this problem. Any comments appreciated.

It works great with braided nylon.  We've not had any experience  
using this technique on 3-strand twisted nylon because we don't have  
any on the boat.  But I don't know why it wouldn't work.  We don't  
just soak the braided line, we put it in a bucket and swish it around  
for awhile.  Then rinse it off.
