T&T: Confiscating laptops

Lo all,
One of the great things about the list is the variety of opinion and
experience. Thanks to all who responded to my question about the customs
folks actually invading or confiscating elctronic devices beloning to
returning boaters. It appears as though it is not an issue at the moment
(and lets hope it stays that way).
 
The driving force behind my question is that I can't afford to be without my
hardware..... it's how I make a living. If there were a significant
possibility that CBP would grab my hardware I would have to have myself in a
position where I could just tell them to keep it and I would replace it and
then retrieve my data.... All of this being something I would rather not
participate in.
 
It appears as though this is not going to be a problem.
