T&T: Confiscating laptops

And will all the folks now using laptops and cell phones for navigation and
communication ....
 
I'm wondering if list members are actually experiencing equipment seizure,
or massive copying of data from boat devices? I'm in canada at the moment
and am considering lobotomizing my devices before I return to the states.
This will be a considerable pain as I do data managment for a living and I
would need to mirror my environment onto physical media and mail it home and
make sure not to do the lobotomy until I can confirm that my data has
arrived safely.
 
What say the list?
