T&T: Anchor Kellets

Dear list,

I am the person who wrote:

....36' boat, 88 lb. Delta anchor, 5/16 chain, 7:1 scope....

Most wrote that using the kellet would be really overkill.

But, some have questioned the scope I use (7:1).

I have too fall back to my US Navy training.

For lunch hooks, I was taught to use 3:1.

for overnights, 7:1.

For storms... as much as physically practical... or better yet, get  
underway and get out of the storm's way.
