T&T: Anchor kellets

An option as per Hal Roth ("After 50 Thousand Miles" if memory serves me)
was use of a fender. He mentioned that a fender would put pressure right at
the water's surface, and that pulling the fender under would be difficult so
he used it (the fender) as a reference guide of sorts when ashore and
checking on his boat.

At this point I can't recall the exact details but do believe we'll give his
theory a test run next month.

Did buy the 16 pound Hydro-Bubble which set promptly as per the write-up in
West-Marine (but that was sand/Atlantic Ocean, so I can't say that was a
true test of holding power) ... even with all chain she went down exactly as
advertised and held immediately.

In any event, next shot out, will tie a small fender to the chain on a short
length of line (boat end/not anchor) and see if that does anything. Logic
says it would, but logic when applied to boats gets a bit iffy, you know?

Wondering if there are any flaws to this approach that I can't see...?
