T&T: Battery Cable

We have totally rewired our present boat. One of the many problems we found when ripping out the old wiring was that the battery cables running to the starters had the insulation melted by the action of diesel/oil dripping on the welding cable. The installation was poor and the sheathing was incorrect. The cables were running under the oilpans to the starter. If they had come into contact with the block, it would have been a hell of a fire. This was not picked up by the surveyor (considered the best in Puget Sound). We have used all tinned marine grade wire except for some some engine and instrument data wires. Rock Chalk Jayhawks. Later, Tator
