T&T: Portable Space Heaters

Unfortunately there are no inexpensive yet dry alternatives to running your gen set and using electric heat or an automotive type fan heater using genny coolant. Propane is clean burning but the major combustion by product is water vapor: running one inside on a chilly morning is NOT very satisfactory. You'll perhaps be warm, but also damp. And water temps in Maine are generally too cold along the coast to permit reverse cycle air. I never used my propane cooking stove for heat; just too much water vapor in an enclosed boat.
   
  When I cruised Maine in recent years, I usually used a camper/RV heater, Surburban brand, with an external exhaust, and warm air ducting. Ten or fifteen minutes was usually enough to warm things up on damp or chilly mornings. Most mornings in mid July and August and early September were comfortable enough as to not need heat; June, however, can be very Chilly.
