I once read a piece from a sailboat delivery
skipper who said he would not take a delivery job
on any boat unless it had at least 1 horsepower
for each foot of waterline length.
At least that is how I seem to remember it.
My plan is to have a 25 HP motor on my Coronado
35 sailboat. It has about a 27 foot waterline
length and the engine it came with was a Ferryman
22 HP diesel that the previous owner said worked
well in all weather for years before a water in
the cylinder situation ended it's useful life.
