Treatment should be performed by a professional termite exterminator,
so what he can/will do, and his recommendation after inspecting the
boat, is your answer.

The Florida DNR (Department of Natural Resources) will probably have
lots to say about commercial type insecticides being applied to tent
a boat on the water, unless exhaustive arguments have prevailed in
previous cases. Since (most) tenting is done on land, that is where
the (most) experience is. You probably don't want to incur the
expense of someone learning how to do it on the water, even if the
DNR allowed it. So, I would guess it would have to be done on the
hard, where a good seal and successful results can be guaranteed at
minimum levels of concern and frustration. Depending upon where/how
they seal the tent, maybe you can use the time to do a good bottom
job or something such.

I would not wait for long, from what little I know about the
critters, a large infestation can do a lot of damage in a fairly
short time. The goal is to minimize damage, especially to any
structural or planking system. Again, a professional termite
exterminator can give you much better answers and insight into the problem.

JMVHO - good luck.

Take care and be safe.
