T&T: Perkins 6.3544 NA won't start

Check all the connections between the battery and the starter.  A high 
resistance connection will keep a battery from providing the current 
necessary to drive the starter but parallel might provide enough current to 
get past the resistance albeit with a great deal of heat.  If all 
connections are good, then the starter would be suspect.  Rapid clicking is 
usually indicative of insufficient current to hold solenoid on starter.
