T&T: Active stabilisers

Hi Everyone: We are starting to narrow down our search for a trawler,  
I used to own an '85 OS 40 Sedan, so they are on the list, also  
looking at GB42's and Krogen 42's. Here's a question for the list; Do  
active stabilisers require more maintenance than is worth the cost  
and advantage to having them? Sandra and I hope to purchase this  
coming spring('08) and spend next winter down the ICW. It will be  
great to meet some of the listees on the water!  Thanks for the
