T&T: splitting a raw sea water intake

I have an old kk42 with a naiad stabilizer. the PO who installed it
didnt want to put in a new raw water intake seacock so he put in 15
feet of tubing to run from an unused seacock in the bow. kinda
laughable but it worked.
i needed that seacock in the bow for the holding tank 3 mile ocean
discharge so i moved the naiad raw water intake to an unused seacock
amidships which was at the same 12 inch below waterline level.
it works great at the dock, but in a seaway we suck air for some
hydrodyamic reason and i get an airlock. i can fix it temporarily by
sucking a little san francisco bay water and re attaching the hose at
the pump but it only lasts for about 30 minutes till we catch a wave.
i cannot convince my crew that they need to be in the engine room to
do this bubble clearing function.
the best solution which i plan to do at haulout in december is put in
a new seacock. but the fall is the best time to cruise here in san
francisco. and the krogen is one rolly beast in the ocean without the
naiads.
would it be ok to hook up a splitter or maybe a Y valve to get raw
water off the generator raw water seacock as a temporary measure?
