Your opinions are as valid as anyone else's and there is no reason to
leave the list because other people don't agree with you.  What happened
here was that opinions were expressed in a way that strongly indicated
that anyone who didn't agree with them was a fool, or at least wrong.
Even if we firmly believe that anyone who doesn't agree with us is wrong
(and who among us doesn't feel that way from time to time?) it's
generally not a good idea to actually say that, particularly to a group
of people we don't personally know and who doesn't know us.  This whole
list is about opinions--  what's the best dinghy, what's the best
outboard, what should you do in such-and-such a situation?  All that's
necessary to keep the discussions civil, I think, is to express an
opinion in a way that leaves no doubt that it's our opinion only, and
that if someone has a different opinion they are not fools for having
it.
