You will need a charge controller, this is the one I use. Good product
with a LCD meter for performance viewing:

Solar panels below. The larger the panel, the higher the amperage, the
more the cost. Go for the bigger panels! Better price per watt.

Lo all,
I'm getting ready to cover the wheelhouse roof with solar panels. The
area is approximately 10 x 15 feet. The boat uses a 12vdc system. I
would appreciate listees input on the current  state of available solar
panels, things to avoid, places to purchase same and places where one
might speak with knowledgable application engineers.
