T&T: 240 VAC

After 2+ years, (2,000 hours) of continuous cruising along the AICW and two
trips to the Bahamas we have had no problem with power on our Great Harbour.
The system works fine for us and we don't have a smart Y adapter either.

Not sure of all the electrical theory that goes into the manufacturers
decision but we have run the boat in some of the most remote marinas you could
imagine. We simply call ahead, ask for the correct connection when we make
reservations and plug in on arrival.

I also do not understand using 240 VAC for the shore connection, unless you
regularly tie up with the big guys. Mirage Trawlers, builder of the Great
Harbors, requires 240 VAC for its shore connection.
