We have used the  Novacool, 12VDC, 120VAC  for 7 years, & the unit has never
missed a beat.. I have helped friends install these same units, with freezer
in the bottom & they have had the same experience...I don't know who badmouths
these units or what the reason, ours has operated over 1500 hrs & still going
strong...The Norcold units, from the trailer industry, are used by the OEM,s
because the can be purchased in quantity, cheap...The Novacool has much better
holdover, cools quicker, uses only 60% of Norcold power & has much better
insulation... Friends have found these units discounted on the Web... Google
