T&T: Winterizing a boat - Poly Smell

In the spring, we put a little water in the tanks and run it thru the system.
This gets much of the pink out. We then fill the tanks with fresh water and
bleach for their annual shock treatment (check archives for amount of bleach).
We run faucets enough to get the bleach solution everywhere, then let it sit
for 24 hours. 

We then run all that water thru the system, fill with fresh water, and repeat.
There is no more pink smell. If anything, a bit of chlorine smell. If it's too
offensive, we rinse again, if not, the carbon filter takes it out.

I would worry about blowing air into my water lines, unless it came from an
oil-less compressor.
