List - I have had a bit of experience with "Pulse Savers" of various
breeds and found that they appear to be best suited to battery banks
that sit on trickle charge for long periods of time..
In my former life I was responsible for a province wide radio network
for the Ambulance Service and at every ambulance station ( about 150 )
we had a base radio installation with back-up batteries in case of power
failure. Normally I would say that most of these battery banks never saw
use as the hydro in those locations was very reliable however there were
some where the batteries got used quite regularly. In the overall system
we found a very marked improvement in battery life once we started using
the "Pulse Saver" modules and it very soon became obvious that they were
saving us a whole lot of money on battery replacement.
I have never really made an attempt to recover a somewhat "dead" battery
to usefulness but one of the other government communications groups here
in British Columbia did a lot of experimenting with them and came to the
conclusion that under certain conditions, which I forget the exact
terms, these modules would cause a battery to recover s fair amount of
useful life and stay that way with a module attached.
Since on our boat I had a very large bank of golf cart batteries (20 in
a series / parallel set-up) I have never tried a "Pulse Saver" on my own
batteries, always found it better to play with someone else's!! <grin>
Just another experience with the topic modules for consideration.
YMMV
