T&T: Winterizing a Boat

I know I'm a day late on this issue. But, what I've done to winterize my
raw water systems (A/C, Genset, Main engine) is to mount a "Thoroflush" cap
on my raw water filters with a hose attached to it and place the hose into a
bucket with the pink antifreeze and let these units suck the antifreeze
through them. It works well. The "Thoroflush" caps were made by the Mumma
Company which I believe is now out of business. These replacement caps were
not really rocket science. There are merely a blank cap with a ball valve
and hose fitting tapped and screwed into the cap.

For my fresh water system I made a simple bypass for the water heater and
fashioned a hose to attach to my fresh water pump. I put this hose into a
bottle of pink antifreeze and pumped the pink stuff through each fresh water
appliance. All faucets, head, etc. Obviously drain the water and holding
tanks as much a possible first.

This is a pretty simple way to get the pink stuff where it will do the most
good.
