Jim, it would help if you let us know where you want to transport the boat. I recently had my 30x11ft boat transported from Long Island NY to Texas. An my boat was at the very limit of getting it out of Long Island. Your boat would have required for you to move it on its own bottom to a place more accessible. Another consideration is that there are a lot of "bootleggers/scabs" out there....people that don't possess the proper equipment, insurance, permits, etc. that are just trying to make a quick buck. They will underbid the legit guys. As you would imagine, the legit guys do not like that so they do have a website(I honestly don't remember it....but just wanted to let you know it existed) that allows you to seach the "registration numbers"(that isn't what they call it but each company has an idetifying number if they are legit) and allows you to see what equipment they use and what insurance they use and how heavily insured they are. I honestly think it is a US DOT
website but don't remember. Good luck. It is not gonna be cheap.
Trawler on,
John
