Gotta put in my 2/100 of a buck in here. We've lived aboard Cigano ever
since Katrina and we've operated two Tecma Silence toilets. They work
flawlessly and although their not actually silent, they are very quiet. Need
very high current wiring though. They can push waste up and out a LONG
distance. Like up 18' and out 75.
They were originally designed for civilian housing in Europe so the
manufacturer claims they'll handle the unmentionables that sometimes show up
in marine heads. I haven't tested this but they never seem to balk. A
listee, who is a distributor for Tecma, told me a charter captain called him
about a toilet that jammed when someone threw a beer bottle cap in it.
Jammed it. The distributor told him to reverse the flushing polarity and
flush it. Out popped the bottle cap! Rewired it and the toilet's still
working.
