It's a great idea. When I had my boat in the yard for refitting, I asked the 
owner about Benmar autopilots. He said they're the best you can get except 
for the kind they use on ships.

They exchanged my Course Setter 210 for a Course Setter 220 for a reasonable 
sum. Their repair rate is usually a flat $125 + parts. Very good people to 
work with. Call Bob and describe what you have and he'll work with you.

If you have hydraulic steering, there's a simple test for the hydraulic 
power unit you can do to so you won't have to remove it. They're very 
rugged.
