T&T: Vista or XP

Since I only upgraded to XP within the last 90
days I guess I may be a little slow on the uptake
here.
 But CLEARLY the current lack of drivers IS a
problem for a lot of people.
 I subscribe to the Amandtech forum to get some 
input on a new motherboard I bought (Asrock 4core 
dual vsta) and looked at the Operating System 
section. It was full of people having problems 
getting Vista to run their hardware and software. 
Some of it clearly marketed as "Vista Certified".
 Of course I AM prejudiced against unneeded OS 
upgrades...
