T&T: PDQ closes it's doors

I just read on the sister list Power Catamarans, that PDQ, the Whitby 
Ontario catamaran (sail and power) builder has closed it's doors.  A 
buyout to restore the old line is in the works, but not yet settled.  
Causes cited include skyrocketing material costs (related to oil prices 
no doubt); the collapse of the US dollar (they manufacture with Canadian 
funds and sell mostly in the US); and the general slowdown in 
recreational boating sales.

As I'm sure you all know, I have my beloved PDQ 34 Stray Cat, and have 
had a fine relationship with the company and all the many fine people 
involved.
