T&T: Speaking of caulk...how 'bout on steel or alum?

I was reading some how-to article here or there, and seem to remember the
author mentioning as an aside about not using some sort of common caulk
because it reacted with steel or aluminum.  I think they were talking about
seating window frames etc.

Are there certain common caulks (5200, Sea-Life, etc) that shouldn't be used
on certain metals?
