T&T: BOATER IDs

I have to disagree with you, Bob McLaren...if it is called BOATER ID then it
sure as heck IS boating related! I think it is  important to get this kind of
information out to BOATERS so that they can write letters or whatever to stop
this nonsense. I also like to know who my 'friends' are on this list! Calling
this issue 'political' is just an 'excuse' to my way of thinking. The
government can keep track of descendants of Mad cows but not illegals or
terrorists and another piece of plastic isn't going to help. I always carried
both my driver's license, which proves very little the way some states now
pass them out, and my passport when cruising. I also had my documentation
papers on board. It is just 'busy work' to issue Boater IDs. Have you noticed
that every day one or more 'little freedoms' is lost? It is naive to think
this is for 'our protection'!
