T&T: anchoring and snubbers

snubbers, often only about 10' long.  Why bother?  There's probably as 
much
spring in 100' opf 3/8" chain as there is in two 3/4" snubbers of 10'
length.  If the snubber you use never needs replacement, it's probably 
too
large. >

The only reason I use my double 7/8"snubber is to transfer the load 
onto my very large and very secure bow cleats from the clutch on my 
windlass.  I rarely have out less than 150 - 200' of chain and could 
care less about "spring action".  Safety and security are what I want 
and the action of lifting the chain off the bottom is all the spring I 
need.
