Yes, these are available in the U.S. at most camping / outdoor stores and I 
wouldn't travel without them. You can (and should) buy an accessory holder 
that will hold the smoldering coil inside so you can place it anywhere 
without the ashes falling all over the place; you can even hang it if you 
want. Not only will it repel bugs, it'll kill any that got inside with you. 
Effective against mosquitoes as well as other stuff. They used to sell them 
at the drive-in movies around here (oops, I just dated myself.)
