T&T: Anchor rode snubber line size

We used to use 5/8" for our snubber lines but have since changed to
1/2." We use braided lines, not twisted.

Let us know if your V-shaped snubber with a line through each bow
hawse is effectual in helping to keep the boat from hunting or
yawing. We use the exactly the same arrangement only we use a chain
plate, not a chain hook. Our experience thus far has shown virtually
no difference whatsoever in hunting or yawing with a V-shaped snubber
or a single-line snubber. Same thing on a mooring buoy. Running a
line from one hawse, through the ring on the buoy, and back to the
other hawse does nothing to reduce the hunting over running a line to
and from the buoy through the same hawse or using a single line with
a karabiner on it to the ring on the buoy. The only thing we've
found effective in reducing hunting at anchor or on a buoy is a stern
anchor.
