T&T: Anchor Chain length

I used to agree that all chain was not
necessary....but I have seen too many get their anchor
rode chopped off/tangled by idiodic boaters who can't
figure out how far away they should pass your bow in
an anchorage. Esp in shallow areas such as Block
Island.
So I am an all chain fan now although I have anchored
successfully for many years with 12 feet of heavy
chain and 5/8 rode....attached to my trusty 20 lb
Danforth.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it ;>)

Hey, right coasters. Ever thought of adding an anchor
to the end of
all
that chain and rope?
