My take is, if your hobby is primarily spending most of your time
messing around with your boat, then either wood or fiberglass, your
still spending the majority of your time messing around with your boat.

Not that I'm interested in ever owning a wooden boat, but isn't there a
problem with PT wood holding paint? What special steps are required? I
know that when you use PT to build a wood deck or fence, they instruct
you to let it weather for a period of time before painting or staining.

A friend of mine, who was in the fiberglass boat business, used to twist
a saying he borrowed from W.C. Fields when he said that wooden boats are
like baby elephants. They are nice to look at, but I would NEVER want
to own one.

Let the flames begin!
