I just replaced my batteries with US Battery 2200s - The battery shop
where I'd bought Trojans in the past said they now prefer these - they
are a little cheaper than Trojans. I paid C$104.50 each.

The last Trojans I bought were maroon colour. The US Battery ones
have a bright red top, and white case.

The boat I recently bought has 4 GC as a house bank, last replaced in
2001. I had noticed that one pair was apparently grounded to the port
side of the engine, while the other was grounded through a Link 10
shunt to the starboard side. When I was connecting the new batteries,
I discovered that the port side "ground" cable was just lying loose in
the bilge, so that pair of batteries was never used! (They are all
properly connected now.)
