I would mount it to pull, or create negative pressure in the back of the
fridge area. This will draw cooler air in through the bottom. Connect to
the fan to the 12v switched leads on the refrig if possible. That way,
the fan will run when unit is running.

In my MT 36 Sundeck, I just mounted a muffin fan in the upper vent (on
port side of refrigerator) and hooked it up to a twelve volt outlet. (I
can't help you with the three wire thing. It should blow out, pulling
cooler air from the area behind the fridge and low down (under the
forward basin). I have had it running steadily throughout the boating
season for a few years now with no problems and feel that it does make a
difference to performance of the Nevercold fridge.
