You would need to check the GoreTex website for that. They have a fair
amount of information on Tenara thread including charts showing its
durability in comparison to other types of thread. I read all this
stuff as well as many testimonials (not on the GoreTex site) about its
longevity, and also ads for major producers of products using Sunbrella
and they all talked about the incredible durability of this thread and
that "we only use Tenara thread on our [awnings, RV covers, boat canvas,
etc.]. But I don't remember the composition--- I'd have to go back to
the website to find that. I first heard about it from a fellow member
of the Grand Banks owners forum who has started using it. When I looked
into the information he recommended it seemed pretty obvious this was
the best way to go. The prices for Tenara vary all over the map. The
full-up retail price for a bobbin of white Tenara is about $300 as I
recall. But there are internet dealers who sell the same bobbin for
about $120 or thereabouts. That's where we bought ours.
