Ahoy Mike & List,

What has me worried recently is how many of the professions been involved in
these collisions. Namely, A cruise ship 17 NM off course to Boston from
Bermuda; An ore vessel collides with a 92 ft S/V, killing the a crew member; A
Coast Guard patrol hits a tour boat, twice, near Miami; lastly, Ship capsizes
in Albany, NY, while loading heavy cargo. Can anyone answer, "Why so many
recently"? Can the training procedures slacking off"

Collision avoidance can only be accomplished if & only when the entire crew
of all of us out there knows the rules and can, "see" & interpret all those
subtle signs to put themselves in a safe position so as to prevent the
"emergency" to exist in the first place.

IMHO.

Ciao, Capt Joe Guarino,
Instructor,
Commercial Diving Academy
