T&T: Water Filter

I went to change the filter element in my Nature-Pure water filter for the 
galley sink over the weekend. When I did, the plastic device that seals the 
housing broke off in my hand. I called General Ecology the manufacturer of 
this unit. They also make the more expensive Seagull water filter. I 
explained the problem.

They asked for the serial number of the unit and I told them that it did 
not have one. I told them that I bought the unit at a boat show in 1994 and 
that it did not owe me anything. They said no problem and sent me a 
complete new housing at no charge. Their only request was that I returned 
the old one.

I could not believe that a company would stand behind their 13 year old 
product.

I am really impressed.
