T&T: 1) Alternatives to 8D batteries are ? 2) How are the Odyssey Batteries?

I would not use Odyssey's for house batteries, but they are fabulous 
starting batteries.  I am using there group 31 equivalent batteries 
to start my Detroits and they are just great in that 
application.  Two of those in parallel (which turned out ot be real 
overkill) replaced two 8D's.

The Odyssey's are also a lot cheaper than they look.  Ask West Coast 
Battery nicely and they will give you dealer pricing.
