In general, it's dangerous to run expensive motor loads on 50Hz if designed
for 60 Hz.
However, resistive loads like stove tops, ovens, toaster ovens, and water
heaters are insensitive to cycles and will work perfectly.
So these could be hooked directly to 50Hz shorepower via a separate electric
panel. A "1" or "2" switch between this panel and your main panel would be one
approach.
Another alternative is to use one of two 30 amp shorepower cords for 50 cycle
to feed one circuit of your electric panel for the above resistive loads, and
the other for use with only 60 cycle such as air conditioning. The 50 cycle
leg will work on either 50 of 60 cycle when state side.
And as posted, a 50 cycle friendly battery charger can be used to charge
batteries which run a conventional exisitng inverter. You could also wire a
heavy load like a water heater directly to shore via it's own separate shore
power cord after disconnecting from the electric panel aboard.
