I have seen a Lot of sailboats designed with the radios at the nav 
station (below decks), and away from the helm, and for the life of me, I 
cannot figure out why someone thought this would be a good idea. The RAM 
mics are fixing this to some degree, but there are still too many 
sailboats that simply don't have the capacity to respond due to 
placement of the radio.
