T&T: Anchors: better a hoe than a plow

The Rocna is another example of the newer hoe-shaped anchor and seems
decidedly more effective than the traditional plow-shaped anchor...sounds
logical too, doesn9t it? For the last couple of years, I have been using an
88 lb Super Max.

It is more hoe than the Rocna, which suggests better mud performance, but
lacks the pointy end, which suggests difficulty in grass. In the muddy
Chesapeake, nothing beats it. In the grass of the Bahamas, it would not
bury, rather it just laid on its side and, well, just held. Looked
ineffective as you snorkeled over it, but hold it did.

The Super Max is half the cost of the Rocna and is made in Mississippi. Just
a happy customer...
