T&T: BC Data rates

It is time again for me to figure out how I will check my email while
cruising (no email, no cruising!), and the big news this summer is
that Verizon is now roaming freely for data on Telus in British
Columbia. That means that if you have a Treo or similar phone, you
can connect at Verizon's roaming rates which are surprisingly modest
($2.05 a MB). This is one third of what Telus charges its own
customers to roam to the US and considerably less than what they
charge for their own customers in BC (except in their highest and
most expensive tier of data use. See http://tinyurl.com/ysphv4

For an interesting take on the outrageously high cost of data in
Canada see: http://tinyurl.com/324qd4

No Canadian carrier, to my knowledge has unlimited data usage, and
nothing compares to the fifteen bucks a month I pay for unlimited
data on T-Mobile. Anyway, since Telus wins the coverage wars, the
best bet is a data-capable verizon phone.

Best,

Steve
