T&T: Home and Clueless in Bay Area

If you haven't looked here yet, this is a good forum:

Petaluma and Napa would be my first suggestions for day/weekend
trips. If you want to test the Pacific, then Pillar Point (Half Moon
Bay), depending on your speed and weather, Bodega Bay to the north
and Santa Cruz to the south. There's so much to see and do further
inland, most people stay occupied for years without any appreciable
"outside the Gate" time.
Most of the good boatyards in metro SF seem to be in Alameda,
however my direct experience is out of date. Richmond has some yards
too. I defer to the referenced forum members for suggestions.
