Reply - you know Marin, I could never figure out the rational behind the
pepper spray idea because I figure that for it to just maybe have some
minute effect you would have to be within 3 or 4 feet of the animal and
I just can't see getting that close to ward the bear off. Having seen
first hand the strength of a grizzly when they peel the steel door off a
remote microwave building to see what's inside together with the speed
they can run when we have come across them in a helicopter at low
elevation, I would just as soon be 3 to 4 miles away from them.
I am not absolutely certain but I don't think pepper spray is allowed to
be brought into Canada so there is another reason for the compressed gas
horn being a better choice.
