Yes! Cast iron skillets are very useful on the boat. Besides the cell phone
antenna that Jeffery told us about they can be used for crushing ice for
your favorite drink. (We prefer a yummy Canadian cider called Glacier
Berry.) Fill one skillet with ice (prefer glacial ice) and set another on
top of it and jump on the top skillet.
Tie a small one to the end of a heaving line for distance improvement. (USCG
approved?)
Two banged together will scare bear away (or tell them to come on over....it
is dinnertime.)
Very useful as a large nail driver for those who have difficulty hitting a
nail with the head of a hammer when the boat is pitching and rolling.
They are the cook's ultimate deadly weapon.
Tie a big one onto a line and heave it off the stern to prevent the boat
"swimming" on the hook in the wind.
They make excellent targets for a pellet gun. Hang various sizes of them
from a tree and hits result in a loud "clang."
Good for catching rain leaks in the cabin or oil drips from under the
engine.
Tie one on a measured line as a weight for non electrical depth finding.
In the winter, heat one up and place it in a towel for use as a foot warmer
in bed.
Use one instead of a pistol to kill that monster halibut you just dragged
onto the deck. (Bullets are hard on teak decks.)
