T&T: Canada customs

Hand guns are firmly forbidden. Long guns can be, but do require permits
and special storage conditions. Why are you bringing it into Canada? If for
protection, that won't be allowed. If for hunting, you can get the
necessary permits at all entry points, but you still have to follow the
storage conditions.

If you are not here for hunting and you are an actual live aboard all year
round, (so you can't truly leave them at home) I am not sure what they
would say about long guns. Or what to suggest about getting them in
legally. My suggestion would be to check with Canada Customs prior to
entry, ie right now, and ask any and all pertanent questions.

Pepper spray can be brought in, provided it is for protection from bears
and not people. I would suggest rather than bringing the spray across the
border, buy it here at any sporting good store.

Ironically, despite 23 years in the RCMP, carrying and qualifying yearly
with a hand gun, I still had to take the Firearms Acquistion Test and apply
for a Firearms Acquistion Certrificate.

Rob - in all seriousness now
RCMP - retired

Do you realize that in about 40 years we will have thousands of old ladies
running around with tattoos and pierced navels?
